Why the blog?

As someone who has followed college football since the 1970s, I have long wished for a college football playoff.  Given the opposition of the Rose Bowl, Big Ten, and Pac-10, a college football playoff is unlikely in the near future.

So college football is left with only polls to determine the best team in college football, along with the disaster known as the BCS.  The teams in the BCS title game are the ones who gamed the system the best instead of the best teams.

For the last two seasons I have been writing on college football at the bleacher report, which gets little respect over all, but does have some good writers mixed in with the rest.  And because of that, I attended the 2010 Fiesta Bowl as credentialed member of the press.

As I get this blog going, I will share my research into the state of college football, as well as provide general commentary as well.  I will also import some of the previous work from the 100+ articles I have written for the bleacher report.

And for the record, I generally support three schools I attended over the years:  BYU, TCU, and USC.  But I am never afraid of calling out my own.

If nothing else, it will be original.
